Academic Assistance

• TUTORING SERVICES:   Tutoring services are available to all students enrolled in foreign language courses at Geneseo.  Language majors and members of the foreign language clubs serve as peer tutors to individuals upon request.  Tutoring is available for primarily elementary- and intermediate-level language courses.

• GROUP REVIEW: Group Review sessions are scheduled as needed by individual instructors.  (Ask the instructor of your foreign language course whether any group review sessions will be offered.

• TECHNOLOGY-ASSISTED LEARNING: Recordings that accompany the books used in elementary- and intermediate-level courses are available online for Geneseo student use at any computer terminal on or off campus. The department also operates a language laboratory in Welles 210 that enables students to work with grammar-related software, do word processing in a foreign language, and/or pursue research online.

STUDY ABROAD:  The Foreign Languages Department offers one informational meeting or more per year about study abroad programs and other opportunities. There is always an informational meeting within the first two weeks of the academic year.
