The sisters of Alpha Delta are a flexible bunch. As long as we have each other, that's all that matters. We've had a lot of fun through the years living in different houses in Geneseo - and we thought we'd share the good, and the not so good, with you!

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!

1938
The first sorority house was obtained at 28 Wadsworth Street. The beautiful brick house is known to AD's as the "Brick Tower."

1964 to 1965

In June 1964, due to college expansion, the sisters were forced out of their sorority house at 28 Wadsworth Street. During this school year, the sisters occupied a floor in Livingston B.

1965 to 1967
The sisters' official residence during this 2-year period was located at 10 Court Street. Mr. and Mrs. Diliberto owned this house.

1967 to 1968
The sisters moved into a floor in Wyoming Hall C2. They were allowed the use of a room in the basement as a chapter room.

1968 to 1974

There are no written records of an official residence of the sorority.

Alumnae - do you know where we lived during this time frame? Were we
nomads wandering the streets? Email us if you know any housing
information!

1974 to 1976

The sisters' official residence was located once again at 10 Court Street.

Fall 1976
The sisters moved to 8 Bank Street, which is now the parking lot across from The Vital.

Spring 1985
The sisters also decided in the fall of that year that it was in the best interests of sorority to move from 8 Bank Street, due to safety hazards, which posed increasing financial burdens.

Fall 1986
The sisters' official place of residence was at 16 Court Street.

1987 to 1988
The sorority went without an official house during this year.

Fall 1988
Larry Scoville, the owner of 92-94 Court Street redesigned the house to make into a sorority house for the AD sisters.

Feb. 11, 1993
Shortly after the Spring '93 pledge class crossed, our house at 92-94 Court Street caught fire due to an electrical problem with a radio upstairs. Fortunately, nobody was hurt and just a few personal
belongings were damaged.

Spring 1994
The sisters decided that it was in the best interest of sorority to find a new house. After many weeks of searching, it was finally decided that the new residence would be at 129 Main Street (formerly occupied by the brothers of Delta Kappa Tau, ΔKT's).

Fall 1994
Due to raises in rent and other problems with the landlords, Dennis Dawson and Chuck Vitale, the sorority decided on yet another move. Thanks to Jill Parkan, we signed a contract for a brand new house to be built especially for us by Fall '95 at 16 Orchard Street. The owner and landlord of this house is Scott Kipphut.

Fall 1999
Due to low numbers in active sorority, the sisters were forced to move out of their house at 16 Orchard Street. The new sorority house was located at 15 Orchard Street, which they shared with the remaining
brothers of Alpha Epsilon Psi (ΑΕΨ).

Fall 2000

Sorority once again relocated our house to 4359 Lower Court Street. Although small, Lower Court has been good to us over the years. Our favorite place to hang out is our garage, which is purple - of course!

Fall 2005
As the lease for Lower Court came up for renewal in Fall 2004, the sisters decided that they wanted to find a new home. Due to the increasing academic standards at Geneseo, the sisters wanted to reside in a more spacious and private home. The sisters went to the Alumni Board President, Denine M. Anderson-Regan, and asked for help in locating a new residence. After much searching, a new home was found at 24 Main Street! The new house has 11 singles, 4 bathrooms, 3 kitchens, 2 tv/living rooms, a basement, a backyard, and a chapter room! Plus, the new house is right near campus - no more walking in the snow, uphill to classes anymore!
