Our Sorority was founded in the fall of 1994 and accepted into IGC on October 8th, 1996. We were formed because of our uniqueness and desire to form a sorority that could benefit the community. The origin of our letters comes from Philia, meaning Love, Hedonia, meaning Happiness and Knossis, meaning Knowledge. The Phetas were founded as the "friendly sorority."
We firmly believe that an organization should inspire the young women within it. The Phetas are comprised of women who are active on campus and off, and who have close friends within and outside of the organization.
Our colors are Red, White and Black. Red was chosen for passion, white for purity, and black for regality. The Crest contains dolphins, poppies and stars.
The dolphin is our sorority animal, the poppy is our sorority flower and the 18 stars on the crest represent our 18 founding sisters. The Pheta Sisters encourage all those who are interested in a bond of love, friendship, happiness and knowledge to come and hang out with us and see what true sisterhood is all about.
