Symposium Information

The Third Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium will be held in the MacVittie College Union Ballroom on Friday afternoon, April 28, 2006. This program will “showcase” the research, scholarship, and creative work of our students. In addition, this symposium provides an overview of the unique educational opportunities afforded through undergraduate research participation and gives recognition to the remarkable amount of research and creative work completed at the College. Two primary venues will be available for students to present their work

  • Oral presentations of research projects which are twelve minutes in length with three minutes for questions. Graphic presentations should be done using PowerPoint if possible. On the registration form, please request an overhead projector, video display, or other system if it is not possible to use PowerPoint. There will be concurrent sessions to accommodate as many presentations as possible.
  • Poster sessions, used frequently at professional conferences in the social and natural sciences, offer a venue to present information, data, and analyses in visual or graphical form. Poster displays can be accompanied by video clips, desktop projection systems, computers, and artifacts. These special arrangements should be noted on the registration form. Student presenter(s) should be present to answer questions about the research.

THE 2006 SYMPOSIUM WILL FEATURE 25 ORAL PRESENTATIONS AND 68 POSTERS
