H1N1 Virus Update
We are maintaining a page with updates on the H1N1 virus, commonly known as "swine flu." Please go here for more information on H1N1 and the availability of vaccines.
Due to the increased numbers of students ill with influenza-like illness (ILI) and the need to decrease the transmission of the virus, Health Services is scheduling students complaining of ILI symptoms between the hours of 1:30 and 4:00 PM each day; this will be continuing until further notice. Visits for other concerns will be scheduled as usual during the remainder of available appointment times. Please remember that it is best not to come to Health Services if you suspect that you have ILI and are not severely ill. Most cases require only symptomatic care; our staff is happy to provide you with assistance by phone as needed.
Don't Gimme Five!
Want to be able to greet your friends without spreading potential flu germs? NPR has put together some great ideas for alternate ways to share the love without sharing the germs! For example, instead of the fist bump (made famous by now-President Obama and his wife Michelle), try the Xena! :)

Waiting for an Appointment
If you schedule a counseling appointment, you may experience a wait time of 3-4 weeks due professional staff shortages and illnesses. To take care of yourself while you are waiting, try engaging in some Self-Care Strategies. If you would prefer not to wait for treatment, you may want to consider utilizing your private health insurance to pursue therapy off-campus. To assist you with this process, we have compiled a list of Off-Campus Referral Resources.
