Anne joined Geneseo in July of 2006. She holds a BA in English from SUNY-Binghamton, a Master's in Human Resources Administration from the University of Scranton, and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.   Anne previously served as Assistant Director of  the University of Scranton's Office of Research Services where she coordinated the sponsored programs efforts of the institution, including all pre-award functions, workshops, regulatory compliance and the Faculty/Student Research Program.  She comes to us following five years of postdoctoral training at the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Anne's doctoral research examined the neural substrates of appetitive instrumental learning and her postdoctoral research focused on the neural structures underlying the process of reward comparison; the devaluation of natural rewards induced by drugs of abuse.  Anne is a strong advocate for undergraduate research and maintains her interests in neuroscience.  She also enjoys reading and looking for finds at flea markets and antique shops. Her twin sister, Amy, is a Geneseo graduate.

Helen joined Geneseo in October 2005 in the newly-created position of Grants Writer. Helen has a BA in English from SUNY Buffalo and an MA in English from the University of Rochester.  She also has a wealth of writing experience including successful grant proposals amounting to approximately $13M in areas as diverse as microelectronics design and rural healthcare delivery. Helen spent fifteen years in various departments at the University of Rochester, most recently at the Center for Electronic Imaging Systems, before coming to Geneseo. She is also a free-lance writer and a nationally published author.

The Grants Writer position was created to support the academic mission of the College by helping faculty locate funding opportunities and submit successful proposals.

Karie joined SUNY Geneseo in July 2001.  She has served as an administrative support person in a variety of offices throughout the campus. In addition to her duties as the secretary to the Office of Sponsored Research, Karie also provides administrative support to the Office of the Provost.

Karie is a Licensed Real Estate Agent serving the Livington County area. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children.
