Environmental Health and Safety is pleased to announce van safety training for faculty and staff wishing to use 12 passenger vans. Students and student workers are not eligible to drive 12 passenger vans for liability reasons.
Initial van safety class:
The training will consist of classroom and hands-on training for approximately two and a half hours on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and is free of charge. Training will be held in the EHS training room in Holcomb 275.
Prior to completing the class, it is a requirement that individuals have a completed LENS (license event notification system) form submitted to the Facilities Services Department.
Refresher van safety class:
For those already certified to drive a van, but whose certification has expired**, refresher training will be offered on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Training will be held in the EHS training room in Holcomb 275.
**Van certification needs to be renewed every 3 years.
IF YOU ARE MORE THAN 10 MINUTES LATE YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE CLASS
****Please note: If your van certification is greater than three years old and you have not attended a refresher class, you will be unable to drive a 12 passenger van.

The NYS & CSEA Partnership for Education and Training is pleased to announce the 2011 Skills for Success courses. Skills for Success courses provide CSEA-represented employees with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to accomplish job assignments more effectively.
The Skills for Success catalog contains course descriptions, dates, and locations. More than 100 classes are scheduled statewide from September 19, 2011, through December 15, 2011.
