BS/MD Early Admittance Program with SUNY Upstate Medical University
Geneseo offers Early Admittance to medical school to a limited number of students each year through our combined degree program with SUNY Upstate Medical University.
This Program is geared toward students from rural communities who wish to practice as general practitioners in rural communities upon completion of medical school. Please note, however, that applications from students from suburban/urban backgrounds would also be welcome for consideration for the Program.
In order to formally apply for the Program, you must submit an application to Geneseo via either the preferred Common Application (www.commonapp.org) or SUNY Application. You must also notify the Admissions Office of your interest in the Program by either calling 866-245-5211 or by emailing the Director of Admissions Kristine Shay at email@example.com. Finally, it is critical that you submit a required essay detailing all interests/experiences in the health field, as well as explaining why you are interested in the Program through Geneseo in particular. Since this second essay is in addition to the essay required of all applicants, and cannot be uploaded through the electronic application process, feel free to email it as a word document directly to Kristine Shay at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that all application materials must be submitted no later than January 1, 2013. In order to meet this deadline, we recommend that you begin the application process at least 4-6 weeks prior to this January 1st deadline.
If you would like to speak with Geneseo's advisor to this Program, Dr. Robert O'Donnell, you may contact him directly at email@example.com. You may also visit the Biology Department's website directly for additional information.
