Summer Scholars Program

Program Overview

The staff of the Access Opportunity Programs (AOP) is pleased to welcome you to SUNY Geneseo and our annual Summer Scholars Program, which is our AOP summer orientation. It is mandatory for all incoming EOP students to participate in the Summer Scholars Program.

During the summer program, you will have the opportunity to personalize relationships with Geneseo faculty and staff, as well as acquire information about matters that can impact your life as a student. The summer program staff, comprised of college professionals and current AOP students, is eager to serve you.

Summer Scholars Program activities include an optional accepted student and family orientation session, a required DRP assessment session, workshops on academic skills, and information sessions about campus life, academic advisement and course registration for the fall term. A big portion of the summer program will be spent in college coursework. Students will take three courses as part of the Summer Scholars Program.

At the completion of the summer program, successful students will have earned three Geneseo college credits that will be applied during the fall semester. Throughout the process of joining AOP and the SUNY Geneseo community, the AOP professional staff and the summer program student staff, will provide personal assistance with any concerns that you might have.

Welcome to SUNY Geneseo and the Summer Scholars Program! We look forward to sharing the next steps in your life's journey with you.
