Oswego, N.Y. – Fourth-ranked Oswego (17-3-0, 10-1-0 SUNYAC)
rallied for a 4-3 win over #15 Geneseo (13-6-1, 9-2-1) in a showdown between the
top two teams in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).
The host Lakers scored the winning goal with 4:44 left in the game, just over
two and a half minutes after the Knights had tied the score at 3-3. Senior
forward Corbin Rosmarin (Rexford/Northern Kings) scored his second goal of the
game to pull Geneseo even.
The Knights, who outshot Oswego 28-16, took two one goal leads. They got on the
board just 61 seconds in when Rosmarin converted a pass from senior forward Kaz
Iwamoto (Tomakomai, Japan/Wyoming Seminary) for his ninth goal of the season.
After Oswego tied the game on a 5-on-3 power play, Geneseo retook the lead on the
second goal of the year by junior forward Carson Schell (Saskatoon,
Sask./Nanaimo Clippers). Sophomore forward Tyler Brickler (Riverwoods,
Ill./UMass-Lowell) assisted on the goal. Brickler also assisted on Rosmarin’s
second goal. Junior forward Zachary Vit (Villanova, Pa./Green Mountain Glades) recorded a pair of assists as well.
Senior Adrian Rubeniuk (Grandview, Man./Dauphin Kings) made 23 saves.
The Knights return home Friday to face Brockport in a 7 p.m. SUNYAC game.
