GENESEO, N.Y. –
The Geneseo ice hockey team (3-3-1) dropped a 4-3 decision to visiting Elmira
(2-2-0) Friday at Wilson Arena.
The Soaring Eagles held off a late charge for the win; Geneseo pulled to within
4-3 with 6:37 left in regulation and had a 5-on-3 advantage for 1:08 in the
game’s final minutes.
Senior forward Ryan Bulach (Kelowna,
B.C./Trail Smoke Eaters) led Geneseo with a goal and an assist. Sophomore
defenseman Jack Caradonna (Markham, Ont./Stouffville Spirit) added
two assists.
Bulach’s third goal of the season
pulled the Ice Knights to 4-3 late in the third period. Junior forward Rich Manley (Buffalo/Burnaby Express) and
senior forward Kaz Iwamoto (Tomakomai,
Japan/Wyoming Seminary) picked up assists on the play.
Caradonna and Bulach assisted on Geneseo’s first goal, scored by senior
defenseman Colin de Jersey (West V Vancouver,
B.C./Burnaby Express) just 41 seconds after Elmira had taken a 2-0
first-period lead. The goal was de

are second on the team in goals.
The Soaring Eagles tallied a short-handed goal late in the first period to
regain their two-goal lead but Geneseo scored a 5-on-3 goal just 15 seconds into
the second to close within a goal again. Junior forward Zachary Vit (Villanova, Pa./Green Mountain Glades) converted passes
from Caradonna and junior forward Garry Childerhose (Altoona, Man./Melfort
Mustangs).
Senior Adrian Rubeniuk (Grandview,
Man./Dauphin Kings) stopped 20 shots as the Ice Knights outshot Elmira
30-24.
Geneseo hosts #7 Hobart Saturday at 7 p.m.
