Canton, N.Y. – The Geneseo equestrian team competed in two
weekend shows to wrap up its regular season, placing fourth at Cazenovia
Saturday and at St. Lawrence Sunday.
In Saturday’s competition, first years Emily Lindsay (Williamson/Williamson) and
Sam Manduca (Selden/Newfield) were the Knights’ top individual finishers.
Lindsay was first in advanced walk/trot/cantor and Manduca was first in walk/trot.
Senior April Krenzer (Livonia/Livonia) placed second in intermediate
over fences, junior Jordan Jones (Eden/Eden) was second in novice
flat, sophomore Anna Eschler (Pittsford/Mendon) finished second in
advanced walk/trot/cantor; junior Erin Seymour (Gainsville/Letchworth) took
second in beginner walk/trot/cantor; and senior Ryan Lefkowitz (New
Rochelle) finished third in open flat.
On Sunday, junior Caroline Bernhardt (Liverpool/Liverpool) and sophomore Christa
Pappalardo (Port Jefferson/Earl Vandermeulen) recorded wins in the
advanced walk/trot/cantor and beginner walk/trot/cantor, respectively.
Krenzler was second in intermediate flat, Manduca placed second in walk/trot
and senior Alex Powers (South New Berlin/Unadilla) finished second in
open fences. Powers was third in open flat, Jones placed third in novice flat, Lindsay
finished third in advanced walk/trot/cantor, sophomore Emily Lockard
(Pittsford/Mendon) took third in novice fences and sophomore Brianne
Szopinski (East Aurora/East Aurora) was third in beginner walk/trot/cantor.
The Knights compete at the IHSA Regionals at St. Lawrence March 30.
