Sophomore Zachary Vit (pictured left) scored with 0.9 seconds left to force overtime and senior Clint Olson netted the game winner just 17 ticks into the extra session to give the Geneseo men's ice hockey team a dramatic come-from-behind win over the visiting Buffalo State Bengals, 4-3. With senior netminder Cory Gershon pulled for the extra attacker, Vit floated a wrist shot that found its way to the back of the net with under a second left with assists going to seniors David Arduin and Jake Yard. In overtime, Geneseo applied pressure right off the faceoff as Arduin got the puck behind the net to junior Ryan Bulach, who forced it in front to Olson and scored on a backhand shot that went just inside the left post. Geneseo struck early as junior Corbin Rosmarin scored from Vit at 1:18 of the first, but the Bengals tied the score at the 5:07 mark. Buffalo State netted a power play goal at 8:05 of the second and an even strength tally at the same time of the third to take a 3-1 lead. Geneseo began the comeback when Arduin scored a rebound goal on the power play from Bulach and Yard at the 13:40 mark of the third. Gershon made 26 saves to post the win in goal as the Ice Knights even their record at 1-1-0. Geneseo hosts the Fredonia Blue Devils on Saturday at 7 p.m.
