
2011-12 SUNY Geneseo Men's Basketball
The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team has been an intercollegiate sport since the winter of 1915. Head coach Steve Minton is a 1986 graduate of Heidelberg College has a record of 162-129 in 11 seasons. The program was started by John O'Neill and has compiled a record of 838-866-1 in its 92 seasons.
In 2010-11, the men's basketball team finished the season with an 11-14 record for Minton. The Knights finished the conference season with a record of 5-13 and missed the playoffs for the second straight season. Junior Mike Hoy led the Blue Knights with 12.6 points per game and first year Jordan Jones, who missed eight games due to injury, scored 11.1 points per game, including scoring 34 points and 26 points in a pair of losses to eventual SUNYAC champion, Buffalo State. Sophomore transfer Ryan Riefenhauser paced the Blue Knights on the glass with 7.2 per contest to go along with 9.5 points, junior Abe Miller added 8.7 points and 5.9 boards and junior John Drazan contributed 5.7 ppg despite missing seven games due to injury. The youth movement included first years Connor Fedge (6.0 ppg), Matt Curry (5.1 ppg in 11 games before injury), Lamont Stokes (4.1 ppg, 4.7 rpg) and Thomas Decker (3.9 ppg, 1.50 asst./turnover ratio). Geneseo graduates just two players in senior guards Mike Baker (3.3. ppg, 2.6 apg) and Nate Cornish (1.5 ppg). | Team LinksTeam Video 2011-12
