Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Geneseo men’s swimming & diving team split a pair of meets at #13 Carnegie Mellon Saturday. The Knights beat Westminster 165-123 and lost 194-92 to the host Tartans.
Geneseo recorded five first-place finishes, including two by first year
Kristian Tialios (Mount Tremper/Onteora).Tialios won the 100-yard backstroke in 53.10 and posted a
winning time of 1:54.45 in the 200-yard backstroke.
Senior Frank Schiappa (East Amherst/Canisius) won the 50-yard freestyle (20.95)
and swam the first leg on the Knights’ first-place 400-yard freestyle relay
team. Senior Austin Brennan (Stony Brook/Ward Melville), first year Tyler Roth (Fredonia/St.
Francis) and first year Jordan Gay (Henrietta/Rush-Henrietta) rounded out the
winning relay unit.
Junior Brandon Peifer (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) won the three-meter diving with
a score of 258.20.
Geneseo competes at Oswego Saturday.
