First years Abby Max, Haleigh Wixson and Caroline Gardner each won a pair of events to lead the visiting Geneseo women's swimming and diving team past Monroe Community College, 139-68. Max won the 400 IM in 4:54.13 and the 200 butterfly in 2:16.31, Wixson took the 100 free in 55.69 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:41.57 and Gardner won both diving events with a score of 226.55 on the one meter and a 231.00 on the three meter. Junior Elyssa Max won the 200 free in 2:02.63, Erin Dewey touched first in the 200 back in 2:18.64 and Lily Powell won the 500 free in 5:33.12. Geneseo moves to 5-4 on the season and travels to Westminster, Pa. on Saturday for a tri-meet with Carnegie Mellon.
First year John Nasky and sophomore Brandon Peifer each won two events to lead the Geneseo men's swimming and diving team past host Monroe Community College, 121-81. Nasky won the 400 IM in 4:31.08 and the 200 back in 2:05.86, while Peifer took one meter diving with a score of 263.30 and three meter diving with a mark of 284.25. Senior Dan Strothenke won the 200 free for the Blue Wave with a time of 1:51.78 and Jan Dokonal won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:20.80. The Blue Wave moves to 6-3 on the season and travels to Westminster, Pa. for a tri-meet with Carnegie Mellon on Saturday.
