Senior Michelle Rodriguez tied Josh Muldner's '99 school record of 15 All-America certificates by earning honorable mention All-America with a ninth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle tonight in a SUNYAC and school record time of 1:50.14 at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving championships in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Rodriguez earned the 14th All-America certificate of her career with a first team All-America, seventh-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a SUNYAC and school-record time of 4:56.22 on Wednesday. The Yorktown Heights native attempts to pass Muldner and become Geneseo's all-time leader in All-America awards for all sports when she competes in the 100-yard freestyle on Saturday.
On Friday, sophomore Frank Schiappa and juniors Aaron Wagner, Andrew Kuter and Dan Strothenke finished 25th in the 800-freestyle relay with a time of 7:04.31.
In men's action on Thursday, Schiappa and juniors Wagner, Kuter and Strothenke collected honorable mention All-America recognition by placing 13th in a time of 1:23.62, while senior Wills DeMoulin placed 20th with a score of 345.05 in one-meter diving.
On Wednesday, Schiappa finished 28th in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 20.79 and teamed with Wagner, Kuter and Strothenke to place 23rd in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:35.54.
DeMoulin, a two-time All-American in one-meter diving, competes in the three-meter board on Saturday and Schiappa, Wagner, Kuter and Strothenke compete in the 800 free relay on Friday and the 400 free relay on Saturday.
