Eight members of the Geneseo men's indoor track and field team and two members of the Geneseo women's indoor track and field team have been named to the 2012 SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field All-Conference team as announced by the State University of New York Athletic Conference on Monday, February 27.
Senior Wenley Louis highlights the selections for the Blue Knights as he was one of four student-athletes to earn first team All-SUNYAC and was named the 2012 SUNYAC Men's Field Athlete of the Meet after winning the long and triple jumps at the SUNYAC Championships on Sunday. Louis wins the award for the second time as he claimed the SUNYAC Field Athlete of the Indoor Meet in 2010 after winning the same two events.
Senior Lee Berube, who won the 3,000 and 5,000 meters, senior Chris Carter, who won the 800 meters, and senior Eddie Novara, who won the mile, claimed first team All-SUNYAC, while senior Nwana Okafor, who finished second in the long jump, and seniors Colin Keenan and first years Phil Longo and Luke Taverne, who tied for second in the high jump, earned second team All-SUNYAC.
Head coach Dave Prevosti earned SUNYAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year for the second time.
On the women's side, junior Marissa Liberati collected first team All-SUNYAC after winning the 3,000 meters, while first year Keira Wood garnered second team All-SUNYAC after placing second in the 800 meters.
