The State University of New York Athletic Conference recognized SUNY Geneseo field hockey player Michelle Milkovich as the SUNYAC Field Hockey Player of the Week as announced on Monday, October 4. This is the second time this season that Milkovich has earned the SUNYAC honor.
Milkovich led the Blue Knights to a 2-0 record last week with three goals, including scoring the overtime game-winner in the 2-1 victory over #7 Cortland on Friday and both goals in the 2-0 victory at Oswego on Saturday.
In addition, Milkovich earned ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Field Hockey Player of the Week as announced on Tuesday, October 5 by the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
The men's and women's cross country teams held their positions in the USTFCCCA Atlantic Region poll. The men's team remained #1 after a dominating performance at the 30th Annual Geneseo Invitational, while the women's team held the #2 position behind St. Lawrence after their win at the Geneseo Invite.
In the USTFCCCA Division III National poll released on Wednesday, October 6, Geneseo moved up one spot to #4 on the men's side and slid one spot to #6 on the women's side. Geneseo is off this week and returns to action on Saturday, October 16 at Rochester.
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the members of the 2010 Scholar-Athlete teams and individuals. The Geneseo team ranked 65th in Division III with a combined grade point average of 3.22. The Blue Knights placed six individuals, Katie Holm, Kelsey Ogden, KK Schaus, Mary Bostwick, Molly Walsh and Stefanie Rosenberg, on the squad that requires a 3.50 grade point average for inclusion.
