The State University of New York Athletic Conference recognized SUNY Geneseo field hockey player Michelle Milkovich as the SUNYAC Field Hockey Player of the Week and junior Ian Mort as the SUNYAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week as announced on Monday, October 18.
Milkovich, who earns her third SUNYAC Player of the Week honor of the season, led the Blue Knights to a 2-0 record last week with three goals and one assist, including both goals in the 2-0 win over Brockport on Saturday, the team's school record 12th win of the season. Milkovich set a school record for points in a season with 33 on 12 goals and nine assists. In addition, Milkovich was named ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Mort scored two goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Blue Knights, including netting the game-winner in the 2-1 victory over Oswego on Saturday. Mort leads Geneseo with nine goals and two assists for 20 points.
The men's and women's cross country teams held their positions in the USTFCCCA Atlantic Region poll. The men's team remained #1, while the women's team held the #2 position behind St. Lawrence.
In the USTFCCCA Division III National poll released on Wednesday, October 20, Geneseo moved up one spot to #3 on the men's side and remained at #6 on the women's side. Geneseo defends their men's and women's SUNYAC title on Saturday, October 30 at Oswego.
