Clinton, N.Y. – The Geneseo women’s swimming & diving team (2-3) posted a win and two losses in competition Saturday at Hamilton. The Blue Knights defeated the host Continentals 152-85 and lost to Ithaca 148-94 and to Hartwick 118-116.

Geneseo picked up two individual wins: Sophomore Abby Max (New Hartford/New Hartford) won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:59.67 and sophomore Haleigh Wixson (Montour Falls/Watkins Glen) touched first in the 100-yard freestyle (55.73).

Abby Max also took fifth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:15.06) and 500-yard freestyle (5:27.89).

Junior Emily Wanamaker (Camillus/Christian Brothers Academy) placed second in the three-meter diving with a score of 230.50 and finished fourth in the one-meter competition (213.90).

First year Julie Holloway (Pittsford/Rush-Henrietta) placed second and third in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races, with respective scores of 25.69 and 56.37.

Senior Kaitlin Wilcoxen (Fayetteville/Fayetteville-Manlius) took third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:33.04) and Wixson was fourth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.37).

Elyssa Max (New Hartford/New Hartford) finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle, first year Jenna Gibbons (Staten Island/Staten Island Tech) placed fifth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:22.22) and sophomore Eileen Goralski (Queensbury/Queensbury) was fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:34.65).

Junior Lauren Boyce (New Hartford/New Hartford) and junior Corrine Vairo (Poquott/Ward Melville) were fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200-yard freestyle, posting times of 2:02.82 and 2:03.32.

The Blue Knights took second in both relays. The 400-yard medley quartet of Wixson, Wilcoxen, first year Hailey Modelewski (Northport/Northport) and Elyssa Max posted a time of 4:09.40. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Holloway, Vairo, Elyssa Max and first year Betsy Erickson (Elma/Iroquois) recorded a second-place time of 3:46.73.

Geneseo is idle until competing at the Ithaca Invitational Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
