Cortland, N.Y. – Mike Woods of Geneseo has been honored by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), winning both the league’s Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year and Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year awards.

Woods led both Blue Knight teams to conference titles at last week’s SUNYAC Championships. The two SUNYAC Coach of the Year awards raise his career total to 21 in 21 years at Geneseo.

The Geneseo men’s team won its fourth straight SUNYAC title and is ranked fifth nationally. The 13th-ranked women’s team took first place at the conference meet for the 12th time in 13 years. Woods has led Geneseo’s two cross country teams to a total of 23 SUNYAC championships.

Woods has won 11 Coach of the Year awards in women’s cross country (2000, 2002-09, 2011-12) and has been honored 10 times in men’s cross country (1993, 2000-01, 2003-05, 2009-12).
