In Brief:
Dr. Alam teaches Marketing, Marketing Communications and International Marketing courses. His research interests are in the areas of New Product and Service Development, International Marketing and Marketing Education. His research has been or is scheduled to be published in prestigious Marketing journals including: Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Services Marketing, Journal of International Marketing and Exporting. His research has also appeared in refereed proceedings of several professional meetings and conferences including American Marketing. Association’s Marketing Educators’ Conferences, World Marketing Congress, Australia and New Zealand Marketing Educators’ Conferences, Academy of International Business Conference and ANZAM Conference.

Dr. Alam serves on the School of Business’s Faculty Development Committee and the Business Advisory Council’s Marketing Sub-Committee. His professional affiliations include the American Marketing Association (AMA), the Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) and the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA).

Before joining SUNY at Geneseo, Dr Alam was a faculty member at the University of Southern Queensland, Charles Sturt University, and Queensland University of Technology (all in Australia). Prior to joining academia, Dr. Alam worked for several years as Marketing Executive in a soft drink manufacturing firm.
