In Brief:

Dr. Gu has taught financial management, futures and options, international finance, investments, money and banking, business statistics, and micro economics. His research interests are in the impact of information technology on market behavior and changes in market efficiency, housing market and policy, IPOs and ADRs, option to develop land, and exotic options. He has presented at the ASSA-AREUEA, ITFA, FMA, and other international annual conferences in America, Asia, Australia, East and West Europe. His research has appeared in the Journal of Financial Research, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Applied Financial Economics, Journal of Real Estate Research, and Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management.

He served as a Fulbright scholar to China, presented at over 20 top Chinese universities.  He received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarly and Creative Activities, BAC Supported Professorships for Outstanding Scholarship, Hurrell/McNaron Scholarly Presentation Award, the Allied Academies Distinguished Research Awards and Honorable Research Award, and Midwest Academy of Finance and Insurance Distinguished Paper Award.  He was nominated for the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Professor Gu is the Advisor to the School of Business National Honor Society, Beta Gamma Sigma.
