Career Planning

Whether you are a current student or an alum, it is never too late to explore career options!  Please take advantage of the expertise available to you through the Office of Career Development by making an appointment with a member of our staff at 585-245-5721.  We house an excellent Career Library here in our office (Blake A 104), and subscribe to several excellent online career resources that are available to current students and alumni free of charge.

Here are a few resources to get you started:

Career Assessments
FOCUS:  a self-paced online career planning tool for students and alumni, with accompanying resources.
Strong Interest Inventory:  an online career assessment based on interests, for both students and alumni. A follow-up appointment with an Office of Career Development counselor is necessary to help you best utilize your results.
My Next Move:  a cool new resource from the U.S. Department of Labor that will allow you to research careers and browse industries based on your interests.
