Rewards of a Federal Government Career
DCAA operates more like a business than your typical Federal agency with a stress on maintaining a competitive edge against public accounting firms in terms of the professionalism of its staff and costs per direct audit hour. Our mission statement sets the tone where we strive to be: "THE best audit organization with the foremost reputation for competence, integrity, and customer satisfaction by creating an environment of teamwork, open communication, trust and mutual respect, and developing highly qualified employees dedicated to the concept of continuous improvement."
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to be challenged every day, to obtain a second advanced degree, to travel to nearly every major city in the United States, as well as overseas, and I have received the two highest awards within the Agency for performance. Public employment can be a very rewarding and meaningful career.
