In the Fall of 2014, the newly renovated Letchworth Dining Hall will open its doors to the SUNY Geneseo community. Each floor is currently undergoing a major renovation and the exterior wall will experience change with building additions and cosmetic upgrades. The new first floor will feature a retail style restaurant while the second floor will house an all-you-care-to-eat style restaurant with multiple cuisine styles. The restaurants will feature state of the art kitchen and serving equipment as well as a layout that will allow for flexible and creative menus not seen on the Geneseo campus before.
The building will be upgraded for accessibility with a new entry, lobby and elevator making it fully ADA compliant. Sustainability has been a part of the conversation throughout the planning and design of the new Letchworth. The building will be designed towards the US Green Building Council's LEED Silver Certification and will be heated and cooled by a new geothermal well field system.
