How to Forward your Phone to myVoicemail

You can control the forwarding of your phone line to myVoicemail direclty from your destop phone. You must perform the forwarding function on the phone that has the extension you wish to alter as the main line.  There are three forwarding options to consider:

• Option 1:  Forward your phone direclty to myVoicemail  (Note: When you forward your phone direclty to myVoicemail, it takes precedence over the remaining options.  You can set your phone to forward when it is not answered (Option 2) and when it is busy (Option 3) at the same time)
  
  • To activate this function:
    • Pick up your handset and listen for a dial tone
    • Press the star (*) key and the number one (1)
    • You will hear a series of beeps --> enter the myVoicemail ext. of 5999
    • Your phone display should say "FWD Set 5999" --> hang up
    • Your phone will no longer ring --> calls will go immediately to myVoicemail (Note: Never forward your phone line to "0", there is no campus operator service)
  • To remove this function:
    • Pick up your handset and listen for a dial tone
    • Press the pound (#)  key and the number one (1)
    • Your phone display should say "FWD Cancel" --> hang up

• Option 2:  Forward to  myVoicemail when your phone is not answered
  
  • To activate this function:
    • Pick up your handset and listen for a dial tone
    • Press the star (*) key and the number two (2)
      
    • You will hear a series of beeps --> enter the myVoicemail ext. of 5999
    • Your phone display should say "FWD Set 5999" --> hang up
    • Your phone will ring and if it is not answered --> calls will go to myVoicemail after 6 to 8 rings
  • To remove this function:
    • Pick up your handset and listen for a dial tone
    • Press the pound (#)  key and the number two (2)
    • Your phone display should say "FWD Cancel" --> hang up

• Option 3:  Forward to  myVoicemail when your phone is busy
  
  • To activate this function:
    • Pick up your handset and listen for a dial tone
    • Press the star (*) key and the number three (3)
      
    • You will hear a series of beeps --> enter the myVoicemail ext. of 5999
    • Your phone display should say "FWD Set 5999" --> hang up
    • Callers will go directly to myVoicemail  when you are on your phone
  • To remove this function:
    • Pick up your handset and listen for a dial tone
    • Press the pound (#)  key and the number three (3)
    • Your phone display should say "FWD Cancel" --> hang up
