Center for Community

The Center for Community, located on the third floor of the MacVittie College Union, encompasses the following offices:

Dean of Students

The Dean and his staff work directly with students to assist them in adjusting to college life and in resolving problems and conflicts that may arise during their undergraduate careers.

Greek Affairs

The Coordinator serves as the Greek Advisor who assists fraternities and sororities by overseeing the Inter-Greek Council and the Multicultural Greek Council.

Student Conduct and Community Standards

The Dean of Students and the Assistant Dean for Student Conduct and Community Standards preside over the College's conduct system.

Leadership Development, Education and Training

The Director administers leadership development programs to prepare students for college and community leadership roles and responsibilities through such offerings as the GOLD program.

Multicultural Programs and Services

This office is responsible for coordinating services and activities which promote the full range of human diversity.

Off-Campus Living

The Coordinator provides programs, services and resources to all students residing, or interested in moving, off campus.

Orientation and First-Year Programs

The director and staff coordinate orientation programs each semester and institute continuing programs during the first year on campus to foster transitioning to this college's campus life.

Student Volunteerism and Service Learning

The Center seeks out, develops, and maintains quality volunteer opportunities that offer Geneseo students meaningful cocurricular experiences, growth, and experiential learning.
