The purpose of regulating parking and traffic on campus is to create a safe and orderly environment for pedestrians and motor vehicles. Anyone operating a motor vehicle on campus is responsible for complying with all traffic laws and parking regulations.
Parking on campus is regulated year round. All students, including commuters, must register their vehicles with Parking & Transportation Services, located within the University Police Department in Schrader Hall, Room 19. A $25 parking fee applies. Violations of campus parking regulations may result in a parking ticket. Illegally parked vehicles may also be towed from campus.
Drivers who require handicap parking may use designated handicap spaces in any lot other than the Visitor’s Circle. A Geneseo parking permit and handicap hang-tag or license plate must be displayed.
Additional information and a list of parking regulations may be obtained by calling the Parking & Transportation Services office at (585) 245-5978, or by visiting the website at: www.geneseo.edu/pts.
The University Police Department (UPD) provides law enforcement services for the campus community 24/7/365. Among their many duties, sworn officers respond to all campus emergencies, provide first-aid as needed, investigate criminal matters, administer lost and found property, provide motorist assistance, make emergency notifications, and enforce New York State laws, local ordinances and campus regulations. For immediate assistance during on-campus emergencies, UPD may be contacted by dialing (585) 245-5222 or 911. Police assistance may also be attained by using any one of the emergency blue light telephones located throughout campus. Please call (585) 245-5651 for non-emergency assistance or to reach UPD administration.
