Tuition and fees are subject to change by action of the SUNY Board of Trustees.

Non-matriculated and non-degree graduate students taking undergraduate courses pay the undergraduate tuition rate for those courses.

Students may be asked to produce proof of New York State residency.

Students who preregister are encouraged to pay their bills upon receipt of confirmation. Payments are due according to the schedule below.

A late payment fee of up to $50.00 will be charged to any student whose bill is not deferred by financial aid or whose payment is received after the first day of each session.

Methods of Payment

  1. ONLINE - Use the Student Account Center available through MyGeneseo to pay by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, checking or savings account.

  2. IN PERSON - The Office of Student Accounts, Erwin 103, will accept payment by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Personal checks, bank checks, and money orders should be made payable to SUNY Geneseo. DO NOT SEND CASH.

Returned checks and credit card payments declined by credit card corporations will result in a returned item charge of $20.00 and, if applicable, a late payment fee.

Refund Schedule: Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees will be completely refunded for a course dropped before the start of a session. From the first day of the session, the College Fee of $0.85 per credit is nonrefundable. Students who withdraw from classes may receive tuition and comprehensive fee refunds as outlined the schedule below. A withdrawal is made by filing a withdrawal form in the Records Office, Erwin 102 or the Office of Summer Sessions, Erwin 105. Students entitled to refunds should bring withdrawal forms to the Office of Student Accounts, Erwin 103.

Note: You may not drop, add, or withdraw from a course merely by notifying the instructor or choosing not to attend class. NEITHER NON-ATTENDANCE NOR NON-PAYMENT REPRESENTS SUFFICIENT NOTICE OF INTENT TO DROP A COURSE. TO DROP OR WITHDRAW, YOU MUST COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE FORMAL PROCEDURES.

Financial Aid

In order to be considered for summer financial assistance at SUNY Geneseo (grants, loans, and work funds), you must complete the 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the 2011-2012 NYS Express Tuition Assistance (ETA) application.

If you are seeking a Federal Direct Stafford/Unsubsidized Loan, you must also complete a separate institutional application, available through the Office of Financial Aid. The Office of Financial Aid must have a processed FAFSA on file in order to determine your eligibility for federal assistance including loans.

If you are seeking summer employment through the Federal Work-Study program, you must have a processed FAFSA on file and complete the institutional Summer Work-Study application by May 15, 2011 to be considered for job placement.
