Program Description:

In collaboration with Universidad de las Americas, SUNY-Geneseo offers a dual-degree in International Relations. Students who complete this program will receive a degree from both Geneseo and Universidad de las Americas. The dual-degree program in International Relations provides students with an exceptionally strong liberal arts education, a firm grounding in the study of International Relations, and exceptional expertise in Latin American Politics. The program is for students from Mexico and the United States. American students will spend their first and third years of study at Geneseo, their second and fourth years at Universidad de las Americas, and a final semester at Geneseo. Students from Mexico will spend their 2nd and 4th years at Geneseo. To participate in the program, American students must have fluency in Spanish to allow them to take courses at Universidad de las Americas. Similarly, students from Mexico must have fluency in English as they will take courses in English at Geneseo during their second and fourth academic years. * The Universidad de las Américas, whose official name is Fundación Universidad de las Américas, Puebla (also known as UDLA or UDLAP), is one of the most important private universities in Mexico. With an enrollment of approximately 8,000, its academic programs - both in the undergraduate and graduate schools - have national and international prestige. It is located in Cholula, a small city that is part of the metropolitan area of the city Puebla.

Coursework:

The Geneseo International Relations Major requires students to take five courses in one of three tracks. The three tracks are Developing World, Political Economy, and War and Peace. Similarly, UDLA's International Relations Major requires students to take several seminars. At this point students will select a course from a large menu of courses to fulfill these requirements.

Program Description:

In collaboration with Hacettepe University, SUNY-Geneseo offers a dual-degree in Economics. Students who complete this program will receive a degree from both Geneseo and Hacettepe University. This program will afford an opportunity for students from Hacettepe University to study at Geneseo their sophomore and senior years, while spending their freshmen and junior years in the English-speaking Economics program at Hacettepe. Participants completing the program would receive degrees in economics from both universities. To participate in the program, students must have fluency in English as they will take courses in English during their program of study at Geneseo. Program Description:

 

In collaboration with Moscow State University, SUNY-Geneseo offers the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communication with a concentration in Language and Intercultural Communication and a Baccalaureate degree in Cross-Cultural Communication from Moscow State University.

Students who complete the program receive a degree from both SUNY Geneseo and Russia’s leading university, Moscow State University. Grounded in the humanistic tradition and in contemporary social science, this program combines skills development with advanced coursework applying theory to communication contexts impacted by culture and technology. The program is for students from Russia and the United States. American students will need at least an intermediate proficiency in Russian, and will spend their Junior Year in Moscow. Russian students must obtain the required TOEFL and will spend their fourth year at Geneseo. * Located in Moscow, Russia, Moscow State University is one of the oldest Russian institutions of higher education. With an enrollment of over 40,000 undergraduates and approximately 7,000 postgraduates, the University campus in Moscow covers 205.7 hectares.

Coursework:

Students enrolled in the dual degree program will complete courses in the program that are approved by each institution. A general pattern of course categories is shown below. Because each institution has its own General Education (SUNY Geneseo), Federal Education (MSU), and department course schedules, semester coursework will vary for those attending either SUNY Geneseo or Moscow State University.
