This Placement is for Childhood or Childhood with SpEd candidates. The Strong Museum of Play has a wonderful new facility that some of you may have visited. They have an excellent educational component utilizing the constructivist approach with lots of hands on learning. Their mission is to recognize play as a means of encouraging student learning, creativity, and discovery. Their educational program reaches from pre-kindergarten through the 8th grade. Ms. Joan Hoffman is the director of the educational program and her staff includes two full-time instructors and a large staff of part- time, experienced teachers. They generally work with one teacher candidate during the second quarter of the Fall semester. THIS PLACEMENT IS FOR CHILDHOOD, EARLY CHILDHOOD, AND CHILDHOOD WITH SPECIAL EDUCATION CANDIDATES ONLY!

Early Childhood Teacher Candidates will have the opportunity to work with children on a Preschool setting using a Reggio-Emilia inspired curriculum.
Woodbury Preschool uses the power of play to nurture each child's learning, creativity, and self-discovery. Through play, children have experiences that introduce and connect them to the larger world, help them develop trust with peers and adults outside of their family, and build their confidence and self-reliance.
