Candidates from the area running for state office will take part in a forum Oct. 17 to give voters in their districts a better idea of the issues and their positions in advance of the Nov. 6 election.

Candidates will make opening statements. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions submitted to moderator Dave Gordon, associate provost.
"Voters more than ever need information about the candidates who will making decisions affecting their lives and we are pleased to offer this event as a public service for our community," said Tom Matthews, associate dean of leadership and service.
The forum is supported by Democracy Matters, the Geneseo Student Association, the GOLD program, Division of Student and Campus Life, Center for Community and United University Professions.
The candidates forum is Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m., in the College Union Ballroom. It is free and open to the public.
