- The Princeton Review recently named Geneseo one of the best institutions in the country for undergraduate education in the 2013 edition of its annual guide, "The Best 377 Colleges." Geneseo has been on the list for several years. About 15 percent of America's approximately 2,500 four-year colleges and three outside the country are profiled in the book, The Princeton Review's flagship college guide. It includes detailed profiles of the colleges with rating scores for all schools in eight categories, plus ranking lists of top-20 schools in the book in 62 categories based on the surveys of students attending the colleges.
- Geneseo is 17th overall in the nation among all "master's universities" in Washington Monthly magazine's 2012 college rankings. The magazine's "master's universities" category includes schools that offer comprehensive undergraduate programs, some master's programs but few, if any, doctoral programs. Geneseo offers master's degrees in education and accounting.
