During student convocation on Aug. 29, psychology Professor Terry Bazzett gave students an insightful tour of the brain in his keynote address "Developing Your Whole Brain at Geneseo."

Bazzett, a biopsychologist, described 12 structures of the brain and their function, from the frontal lobe, which is responsible for high-level processing, to the amygdala, where emotions are "remembered." He advised students on how to develop the whole brain to its fullest potential while they are at Geneseo.

"My advice to you is to get out and enjoy our college," Bazzett said. "We have something for every region of your brain."
