Members of the college community gathered today, May 11, to say thank you to Vice President for Administration and Finance Kenneth H. Levison, who has served Geneseo for more than 25 years. Longtime colleagues and friends congratulated Levison on his upcoming retirement at a reception in the College Union.
Levison brought a unique background and perspective to the position, having overseen operating budgets for education and transportation in New York state's budget office. He has also been a lecturer at Harvard University and an assistant professor of German and humanities at several universities. He earned a master's and a doctorate degree in Germanic languages and literatures from Harvard University.
Of his many accomplishments throughout his career, Levison has served as president of the State University Business Officers Association and was recognized as the first recipient of that association's Robert J. Wagner Business Officer of the Year Award in 2006. In 2009, he won the Rochester Area Financial Executive of the Year Award, for the best CFO in nonprofit organizations in the region.
