History Professor Emilye Crosby will be a guest speaker at several conferences this summer regarding her recently published book, "Civil Rights History from the Ground Up." She will celebrate on campus with a launch party on Thursday, April 21, at 4 p.m. in Milne Library, room 105.

The book speaks to the importance of oral history interviews and the insights of activists to help society examine how the civil rights movement at a local level deepens understanding of the broader context. Contributors include well-known figures in the field as well as up and coming scholars, and offers insight into how piecing together the stories of local struggles can engage students.
