  • Sally Profeta '13, a political science and international relations and English literature major, wrote a paper for Professor Jeremy Grace in a senior capstone course called Theories of International Relations through the Political Science department," which will be published in the Sigma Iota Rho Journal of International Relations.

    Profeta's paper, "Realism and its Critics: The Chinese, American, and Sudanese Oil Triangle," is one of 12 chosen nationally to be included in the spring 2013 issue (volume 15) of the journal. The journal is nationally acclaimed as a premier undergraduate journal of international studies. Profeta is the first Geneseo student whose work has been published in the journal since it's founding in 1998.

  • french society inductionThe French department is celebrating two occasions. First, Geneseo's Mu Iota chapter of Pi Delta Phi National French Honor Society inducted 12 students on April 25. French/Adolescence Education major Rachel M. Taplin '13 and Professor of French Beverly J. Evans officiated. Visiting Assistant Professor Kathryn E. Fredericks, Graduate Teaching Assistant Nadjet Sarrab from the Université Paul Valéry-Montpellier 3, France, Lecturer Adrianna Betts, and community member Matthew Fredericks were inducted as honorary members.(Photo by Paula Bill)

    Also, Rita Lily Wheeler ‘14, a French and chemistry major, recently won the nationally competitive 2013 Dr. Mary E. Gutermuth summer scholarship from Pi Delta Phi National French Honor Society to study at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, Canada. Evans nominated her for the award.

  • Jamie Butcher has been accepted to participate in the 2013-2014 Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals, a study and work-abroad fellowship for one year. He is among 75 participants who were chosen among a pool of over 600 applicants.
