A note from Shaping Lives of Purpose: The Campaign for Geneseo Faculty and Staff Campaign co-chairs:

As many of you are aware, the college is in the midst of a capital campaign. Shaping Lives of Purpose: The Campaign for Geneseo is an unprecedented endeavor for our campus, with a goal to secure an endowment of over $20 million that will directly benefit our students.

By raising this endowment, we, the faculty and staff of Geneseo, will be ensured that our students continue to have amazing learning experiences inside and outside of the classroom. We know that it is through the rich and diverse learning experiences that our students are empowered to go out into the world and accomplish great things. We need to not only preserve this learning environment but to expand it so that all of our students have these opportunities to flourish.

The success of the campaign will allow us to do this. It is important and this is why we ask you to participate. How can we be involved? Shaping Lives of Purpose is reaching out to alumni, parents, friends of the college, as well as all of the faculty and staff.

How did we reach out? On Sept. 20 we held a launch event specifically for faculty and staff. Following this event we spoke to departments through a series of presentations given by a committee of nearly 20 of your colleagues who are volunteering in this endeavor. In addition, a personalized packet was given to each employee detailing the giving priorities of the campaign: The Fund for Geneseo; The Center for Inquiry, Discovery and Leadership; Scholarships; Academic Innovation and Faculty Support; Global Education; and Athletics.

We are currently at 14 percent of our 100 percent participation goal. Over the course of several years your contribution, coupled with those from your colleagues, will have a significant impact on the overall success of the campaign. Our participation sends a strong message — we who work at SUNY Geneseo believe not only in the work we do, but in the difference we make in students' lives.

If you have not already made a campaign gift or pledge, you can access the online giving form.

Each and every day we shape lives of purpose through the work we do. Individually your participation matters and will contribute to the greater good. We thank you in advance for your careful consideration of supporting Shaping Lives of Purpose.

We encourage you to speak to a member of the committee working on the Faculty and Staff Campaign, you are encouraged to reach out to either of us and we can connect you with more information or your designated department volunteer. Our goal is to engage the majority of the campus community and our committee will continue to outreach through the spring semester to departments and individuals to capture as much participation as possible.
