More than 800 parents of Geneseo students visited campus for a full schedule of performances, activities, educational sessions and lectures on Parents Weekend Oct. 22 and 23, so they could sample what the college has to offer their children on a daily basis.

In addition to tours of campus and science laboratories like the wave tank and particle accelerator, parents enjoyed a Late Knight ice cream social and soccer, volleyball and other varsity games. More than 300 parents attended a session about Geneseo's study abroad opportunities. Faculty were highlighted in 12 Parent College sessions, which ran from ways to read a Paul Laurence Dunbar Poem to the 1866 Irish invasion of Canada and why Dante's works still matter. More than 240 parents attended the morning sessions and 388 parents attended the second Parents College session.

President Christopher C. Dahl addressed more than 350 parents about Geneseo offerings, accolades and current budget challenges, at a presentation in Wadsworth Auditorium.
