|Description:||Milne library offers a variety of placement opportunities: At the Service Desk, duties include charging and discharging materials, shelving, retrieving and shifting library materials, answering directional queries for information and/or basic reference questions, and troubleshooting simple issues with library technology. In Information Delivery Services (IDS), student employees will assist in providing students, faculty, and staff with access to materials from other libraries and Milne Library's own collection, while also sharing our collection with other libraries. In Technical Services, student assistant responsibilities will include, shelving and shelf-reading materials, processing and labeling materials, mending damaged books, data-entry and data collection.|
|Requirements:||Essential qualifications include: dependability and willingness to work an established schedule, attention to detail, ability to interact with the public, ability to work independently or in groups, ability to use computer software and systems or are interested in learning, physical ability to stand, bend and lift books or move loaded book carts and some weekend, evening and final examination week shifts are required. Please be sure to note any previous library experience on your application.|
