FOHR organizes weekly shifts to the rescue in Pavilion, New York every morning and afternoon. A shift lasts for two hours and generally includes:
- Mucking out shelters and basic cleaning
- Feeding and giving hay to all horse as well as medication to horses needing some
- Making sure each pasture has a full clean bucket of water that isn't iced over in the winter
- Grooming and making the horses beautiful
- And most importantly of all, giving the horses your love and attention
FOHR also helps fundraise money for the horses (the Rescue is a non-profit organization with no paid staff), and raise awareness of the Rescue. Ideas are always welcome, even if you can't take a shift.
