In December, all alumni-athletes received a letter explaining his/her qualifying gift based on donations made to Geneseo last year and this year. That letter explains your qualifying gift based on donations made to Geneseo previous to the mailing date of the letter. Learn more about qualifying gifts.
Yes. If you played basketball and soccer, your qualifying gift counts as participation for and supports both teams.
To volunteer, please contact Lisa Feinstein at (585) 245-5027 or feinstein@geneseo.edu. Volunteers contact their former teammates and encourage them to participate. Alumni volunteers will play a key role in determining which teams win the challenge. And volunteering is a great way to reconnect with former teammates and friends!
The track coaches and the athletics department made the decision to have the indoor and spring track teams compete as one team because of a substantial overlap in team members.
A Knight's Challenge provides alumni-athletes the opportunity to multiply the power of their gift. By participating and making a gift to The Fund - you can leverage a gift of $20, $30, $40 or even $750, into a larger award of $6,000, $4,500 $3,500 or $1,000.
The Fund for Geneseo benefits ALL students on campus, including student-athletes. Gifts to The Fund provide support where need is greatest - funding athletics, leadership training, scholarships, research, global studies and departmental initiatives.
The sponsors of the challenge, Bob Avallone '76 and Dan Loughran '86, hope that A Knight's Challenge will help to build a tradition of repeatable annual giving at Geneseo.
Qualifying gifts to A Knight's Challenge must be received before the end of the fiscal year, June 30, 2013.
Gifts from parents do not count towards the challenge. However, parent gifts to athletics and The Fund for Geneseo offer critical support for the College. If you are an alumni-parent who played a sport - your gift DOES count toward the challenge - and makes twice the difference!
Winners will be announced by July 31 via this website, email, social media and several college publications.
