There are 74 concurrent sessions and each session is assigned to one of four time periods:
Session 1: 9:40 am – 10:55 am
Session 2: 11:05 am – 12:15 pm
Session 3: 2:55 pm – 4:10 pm
Session 4: 4:20 pm – 5:30 pm
Location and Time of Presentations
You should check the Session Schedule (updated 4/10/12) or the Program (pdf) to see the location and time of your session. Students should make their presentations in the order in which they appear. It is also advisable to arrive early to the session, particularly if you are using computer equipment.
Length of Presentations
Each session is 1 hour and 15 min long and will generally have between 2 and 4 presentations. The amount of time allowed for each presentation will vary according to the number of presentations to be made, so please be courteous of other presenters and keep your presentation within these general time limits:
4 presentations – each presentation may be approximately 18 minutes long including questions and discussion
3 presentations – each presentation may be 25 minutes long including questions and discussion
2 presentations – each presentation may be 37 minutes long including questions and discussion
You don’t have to use all the time allowed (sessions can end early), but please be kind to other presenters.
Please note that there are some exceptions to these length guidelines. Some sessions have been organized as panel presentations. If you are participating in such a session, your faculty sponsor will provide you with guidelines.
Session Chairs should introduce each student and facilitate a short question and discussion period at the end of each presentation. Session chairs are also asked to keep watch of time limits and politely inform presenters when they are close to their time limits.
