    A survey of global revolutionary changes which followed the end of the Second World War--in their ideological, political, economic, and military aspects. Offered: at least once every four semesters

S/M/His of Latin Amer to 1825

    A survey of Latin American history from its pre-conquest indigenous and Iberian origins to the collapse of the Spanish Empire and the emergence of national states. Primary emphasis is placed upon the Spanish doctrines of conquest and colonization, the development and influence of the colonial system, and the independence movements. Offered every fall

HIST 372:
History of Modern Mexico

    This course will examine the history of Mexico from 1810 to the present, focusing on social and economic evolution as well as political change. Special attention will be given to the history of U.S.-Mexican relations. Prerequisites: HIST 270 or HIST 271, or permission of the instructor; and for History majors HIST 220 and HIST 221. Offered not on a regular basis
