Ronald Herzman is Distinguished Teaching Professor of English at SUNY Geneseo with a specialization in Medieval literature. Highly respected among colleagues and students, Herzman is internationally known for his mastery of Dante and has taught a course on the Italian poet almost every year at Geneseo since 1974. He also has written and lectured extensively on Dante. Herzman frequently teaches in the National Endowment for the Humanities’ Summer Seminar for School Teachers program in Italy and the United States. He earned his master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Delaware and received an honorary doctor of humane letters from Manhattan College. Among numerous honors, he received a SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Teaching in 1976. Dr. Ronald Herzman is the 2011 recipient of the Geneseo Alumni Association Honorary Membership Award. Honorary Membership is given to a non-alumnus who has made outstanding contributions to the Geneseo Alumni Association. | |
