SUNY Student Information Survey

SUNY Student Information Survey

As a result of the SUNY System-wide Diversity Task Force SUNY System Administration recognized it was missing data in its information portfolio on some diverse populations, including information on sexual orientation, gender identity, disabilities, veteran status, employment and first generation status. To address this missing information, SUNY System Administration designed a common student survey to collect this information across all SUNY campuses. For more information on the background of the survey and the actual survey questions, see the September memo from SUNY Provost Alexander Cartwright.

Geneseo campus decision makers, including all teaching faculty, administrators, deans, and department chairs, will not have access to this data. This information will not be associated with students’ academic record and will not be available via normal channels in our student information systems. Students will be able to review their responses and make any needed changes for each fall and spring semester.

Geneseo implemented this survey in January 2016. Students will be asked to complete this survey before accessing any information in Knightweb, and completion of it will be required prior to advanced registration. If you have questions about this survey, please contact the SUNY Provost’s office at provost@suny.edu.
