The women's basketball team traveled to RIT tonight to take on the Tigers and dropped a 62-54 decision. Geneseo trailed 35-28 at the intermission as RIT netted 4-9 from the arc. The Tigers streaked to a 15-point lead at 52-37 with 8:31 left in the second half, but the Knights closed to 54-52 with 2:00 remaining by holding the Tigers without a field goal over the span. RIT broke the drought with a jumper at 1:34 and closed the contest by making 6-6 from the free throw line. Junior Khadija Campbell hit six of 10 from the field and scored 11 of her team-high 15 points in the first half, while sophomore Bri Dunton netted eight of her 14 points in the second stanza. First year Melissa Graham grabbed six rebounds and junior Brittany Finkle added seven points. Geneseo shot just 29% from the floor (19-65), was 1-18 from the three-point line and won the rebound battle, 47-45. The Knights fall to 2-1 on the season and host Cobleskill on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
