NACDA/Learfield Cup Division III Standings

The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) released the final fall standings for the NCAA Division III Learfield Directors Cup and the Geneseo Blue Knights stand in 18th place of 177 scoring institutions with 160 points. There are approximately 440 institutions in Division III vying for Directors Cup points.

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's NCAA Division III championship finish in up to 14 sports -- seven women's and seven men's.

Geneseo is the top ranking New York State school, ahead of, among others, New York University (19th), St. Lawrence (24th) and Cortland (25th). The Knights received 72 points for their sixth place finish in men's cross country, 63 points for their ninth place finish in women's cross country and 25 points for their tie for 33rd place in women's soccer.

Further standings are scheduled for release on March 18 and April 1 for winter, with spring standings on May 27 and final standings on June 23, 2010.
